Gardner Denver has expanded its high-tech compressor series with new, innovatively designed variable frequency drive (VFD) controlled units.
VS series compressors combine modern ENDURO airends with the benefits of variable speed drive (VSD) control, allowing the compressor to consume energy only in proportion to its air delivery. This makes the VS series compressor an ideal investment for optimizing energy consumption and reducing operating costs.
Beyond reliability, compressors are evaluated based on their energy consumption characteristics. This makes the development of various control systems an important part of compressor technological advancement. While frequency control of electric motors has been considered multiple times before, its application for compressor control and pressure regulation has only recently become widespread.
Unique ENDURO
The VS 40, 60, and 80 models are new additions to the Gardner Denver VS series, uniquely combining the advantages of the ENDURO airend with variable frequency drive control. This enables steplessly regulated air delivery, precisely matching current demand, starting from 1 Nm³/min. This eliminates unnecessary energy consumption and reduces energy costs.
Intelligent Pressure Control
The variable frequency drive (VFD) regulates the compressor’s operating speed and air delivery based on the current pressure level and compressed air demand. The pressure sensor’s signal serves as the basis for rapid correction, guaranteeing a highly accurate pressure level even with constantly fluctuating consumption. Stable operating pressure prevents over-compression, which leads to unnecessary energy consumption.
