When KS Katalog Servis, a subsidiary of Heinrich Heine and a member of the Otto Group, centralized its operations into a new production hall in Stáhlavy, it required a new, reliable compressed air system with acceptable investment and operating costs. From the outset, it was clear that the company would turn to its trusted supplier, Veskom, the local distributor of GARDNER DENVER in the Czech Republic.

“We were given the opportunity not only to supply the compressors but also to design and build a complete compressed air system for the new site,” explained Filip Strobach, Commercial Director of the Compressor Division at Veskom. The challenge was to fit all the machinery into a very small space while adhering to noise restrictions in the area.

The benefits of the solutions quickly became apparent: KS Katalog Servis saves both money and space. All compressors (ESD75 EANA, ES 55 EANA, and ES 160 EANA) are equipped with a +W heat recovery system, which converts the generated heat into hot water.

“Although the external temperature in the Czech Republic in December is around 0°C, we do not use a gas boiler for heating,” explains Ladislav Klement, Maintenance Manager at KS Katalog Servis. The heating for the new production hall and offices, as well as the hot water supply, is provided by the operation of the GD compressors and the +W module.

This system is designed to achieve operational cost savings during its use.

The project was implemented with minimal production losses.
