Arrabona Racing Team – Hungarian Engineering Students at the International Forefront

Arrabona Racing Team was founded in 2014 at the Department of Vehicle Development at Széchenyi István University. In the Formula Student international engineering competition series, students do not simply compete: they design, build, test, and develop their own race car.

The team has achieved significant international results in recent years. In 2024, it secured overall victory at the Formula Student East competition, while at Formula Student Austria it achieved third place overall.

2025 opened a new era in ART’s history from a technological perspective: after more than a decade of internal combustion propulsion, the team switched to the electric category and built its first electric Formula Student race car. In 2026, it is preparing for its second electric season, further developing the experience gained in the previous year.

When Industry Meets Education

The distinctive feature of Formula Student is that students encounter complex engineering problems they will also face later in industry.

Design, manufacturing, testing, optimization, project management, and teamwork—creating a race car requires far more than purely theoretical knowledge.

This is an approach that aligns closely with DENVAIR’s philosophy as well.

Behind precise engineering work always stands appropriate technology, reliable equipment, and extensive practical experience.

That is why it is particularly valuable for us when we can contribute to the development of young Hungarian engineers in our own field of expertise.
