Diagnostics and Condition Assessment: Foresight for Uninterrupted Production

DENV-AIR Kft.’s believes in proactive maintenance. The most critical component of industrial compressed air systems, the compressor unit, inevitably wears out over time, but failures can be prevented with precise diagnostics.

Our goal is to ensure you know exactly when critical replacement is due, preventing unexpected failures that lead to costly production downtime.

The Role of Bearing Vibration Diagnostics

Bearings in compressor blocks will eventually wear out. While manufacturers typically recommend bearing replacement after 20,000 operating hours, it is not uncommon for our compressors to have compressor blocks that perform for 40,000 operating hours or more. The operating life can be extended, but the time for replacement must be predicted in advance.

Benefits of Diagnostics
  1. Accurate Prognosis: Our specialist regularly conducts measurements and continuously evaluates the data based on these findings.

  2. Risk Reduction: Based on the characteristic vibration values of the bearings, it indicates their degree of wear and the timing for necessary replacements. This allows many major faults to be detected in time.

  3. Efficient Operating Time: The bearing replacement interval can be extended significantly.

  4. Special Alert: For machines operating under poor conditions, it is advisable to start measurements after 15,000 hours, as bearing life may be reduced.

The Diagnostic Process

Our Bearing Vibration Diagnostic Specialist performs on-site measurements on the machines at specified intervals. A report is prepared for these measurements, detailing the bearing locations and the corresponding measurement values. Important: when overhauling the compressor block, it is advisable to also service the electric motor bearings.

FAQ – Compressor Diagnostics

DENV-AIR Kft.’s specialists know that the condition of compressor units is a critical factor in productivity. Proactive diagnostics goes far beyond simple maintenance. Below, we have compiled the most frequently asked questions to help you assess the condition of your equipment in advance, avoid unexpected failures, and maximize the operating life of your screw compressors.

The compressor unit is the most essential and heavily stressed component of the compressor. Regular diagnostics (vibration measurement) allows for continuous monitoring of bearing wear, enabling the prediction of replacement timing and preventing unexpected, costly failures.
Manufacturers generally recommend replacing bearings after 20,000 operating hours. However, if the compressor operates under poor conditions, it is advisable to take measurements after 15,000 hours, as bearing life may be reduced. Conversely, many compressors perform for up to 40,000 operating hours with rare faults.
Our Bearing Vibration Diagnostic Specialist performs the monitoring. Measurements are taken at specified intervals, and a report is prepared. Based on the evaluated vibration values, the degree of bearing wear and the timing for necessary replacements are indicated.
By continuously evaluating the data, the bearing replacement interval can be extended significantly, minimizing operating costs. Furthermore, much larger faults can be detected in time, before they damage the system.
Yes. If the compressor block needs refurbishment or replacement, it is advisable to also service the bearings of the electric motor associated with the compressor for maximum reliability.
In addition to bearing vibration diagnostics, we offer Condition Assessment, and provide comprehensive services for the entire system, including Planning, Implementation, and maintenance (Service, Compressor Repair).
