Although commercial relations between Hungary and Cuba are currently almost non-existent – with annual trade barely exceeding one million dollars – there are Hungarian companies interested due to the long-term potential. To support these companies, both in their initial presentation and on-site assessment, ITD Hungary is organizing a Hungarian stand at this year’s Havana International Fair, in cooperation with DENV-AIR Consulting.
ITD Hungary is organizing an introductory opportunity in November for domestic businesses interested in Cuba and Cuban business prospects – primarily small and medium-sized enterprises. The state agency will feature a Hungarian stand. What it offers is that its own staff will inform interested parties on-site about the companies participating in the fair with their materials. Additionally, they will register and then forward Cuban inquiries to the Hungarian companies. This form of representation is free of charge for the represented companies and institutions, as we learned from ITD Hungary.
At the same time, they also offered the opportunity – albeit limited – for company representatives to personally attend the event. However, this is no longer a free service: the fee is HUF 50,000 + VAT per company. Personal attendance can create a good opportunity for Hungarian companies to open up to the Cuban market, as well as to get acquainted with and establish contact with partner companies and organizations working in the industry, the agency points out.
ITD Hungary invited DENV-AIR Kft.’s commercial representative, DENV-AIR Consulting, to cooperate in the organization. One member of the company, established to promote Cuban-Hungarian trade relations, is DENV-AIR Kompresszortechnika Kft., which exports various industrial equipment, compressors, garden machinery, and lawnmowers to Cuba. The other member is Marysol Travel Services, which operates the information portal kubainfo.net and handles inbound tourism to Cuba, primarily cooperating with Hungarian tour operators in the Cuban market.
The two companies aim to leverage their more than 6 years of practical experience in the Cuban market to serve Hungarian entrepreneurs by opening their Cuban commercial representation, DENV-AIR Consulting. This offers a comprehensive service to companies interested in Cuba, including travel arrangements, business consulting, and undertaking on-site representation in Cuba, stated Tamás Gyenese and Tamás Nagy, heads of DENV-AIR Consulting commercial representation.
